February 14, 2011

Well the situation that is going on with my birthday backage is that I am up here (in Gyor) and it is down there (in Kaposvar). With me up here I can't go back and get it so I am going to call the post office down there to see if they can send it up to my address here in Győr if they havent already sent it back to you guys, but I hope not. That would suck cause then you basically spent that money for nothing.

Well this week was pretty fast. As for the work here there really isnt much and so that really sucks, but for some reason it really hasnt bothered me. I am with a cool companion and I can practice my hungarian a lot more often now and all kinds of things so I can just have some fun while I'm doing the work. I can't believe that if every week goes by this fast then I will be home in no time and it's insane.
Speaking of the end though, Kolja did call me and I talked to president about it and said that he would be fine with it if you would feel comfortable with him doing it. I am not sure how to take of planning getting all the stuff taken care of like where I would head out from and where I would get to plan all of it, so hopefully that I get some info, or Kolja would be able to talk to the mission office or something to help me get that taken care of.

As for this week we didnt have anything too special, but in the upcoming week we will have Zone conference already again. It's insane how often they seem to come.

I sure hope that I can take care of my birthday package stuff and get it sent here to me.

When Elder Murvai and I got here the house was a pretty big mess and so in the midst of trying to take care of so many things this week, we managed to get that clean and nice lookin. After being on my own I have really grown a dislike for a messy house and so I like to clean like all the time, yet at the same time I seem to be one of those people that wants to clean so many things at once and then as im cleaning something, I see another mess and so it turns into a clean this so that I can clean this and then that and it becomes a line of things. Then yay, its clean. Then like a few hours later its like, "I just cleaned this stuff up, what happened?" It just seems like one project after another and it never ends. Ahhhh, welcome to living on my own. It will be fun though to take care of all the things that I need to. Even when I was at home I made a to-do list and took care of things. I know that then it wasnt that much of stuff, but just when I got an idea of what I want to take care of I wrote it down.

Things here in Győr are going ok. My comp and I have made some pretty good goals to make sure that we get things kickin up here and we are hopin that the weather gets a little warmer again cause its not just us that may not be the happiest to be outside in the cold and so things are a little slower, but I know that the warm is right around the corner.

Well I love you guys. I love you guys and hope that your jobs go through and that you have fun with the Lanes. I love how you guys are such good friends after sooo long. I think it's sick.

I'll let you guys go, I know I take up so much of your time, NOT, gosh I'm sooo lame. I don't have much to talk about recently, but I think that I need to write down what happens so that I don't get here and then all of the sudden I have no idea what to write you guys.

But know that I love you and I will be praying for Adam's friends and your jobs.
Love Josh

**21st birthday!!**

As for news, I am......are you ready......going back to Győr. I'll be there as a trainer to a Hungarian that I got to know from Debrecen. His name is Murvai Tamás and he is way legit. He is preparing to serve a full-time mission and a trainer either make or break his mission, so I think that there needs to be a lot of trust in me from pres to do that, knowing what is at stake. Anyway, I got a call from pres this morning. That's how it usually works when we get calls. The trainers, APs or ZLs going into the position get a call from president.

I still havent gotten your package for my b day. It might come today for all I know.

As for this week, I did some fun things. We went to a basketball game on Wednesday and we went because there are a few Americans here that we know and the only reason that they are here is to play on the team. One is a member, but has been inactive for some time. But his wife is really cool and is about to have a boy. As for the other guy, his name is Kurt. He said that he got some of the new lebrons. I wanna see them. But in the game he had a few good slams. I loved going to see some ball again. I went to jump up and grab the rim with both hands like I used to and uh, came pretty short. It was sooo demeaning. I've got some work to do when I get home. Lol. I do happen to have a stationary bike however in the Győr appartment. So I think that I might take advantage of that this time. I am sure that you remember that there is one there.

This last week I worked pretty hard and I got sick and worked out pretty hard so I know that I am pushing myself to do what I need to.

We also went to this really wonderful family's house this last week. I feel so bad for them cause they live like an hour away and in a one room house. Like it's literally one room. The beds are all on one side and the toilet is in the corner. It's sooo sad, but they are always so happy. I really envy people like that. They were so nice to have us over and to make us little cup holders. They were made out of toiletpaper rolls and candy wrappers, but look pretty good and sturdy. I love their kids too. Their little girl is the one that slammed the door last week and then blammed me. ??? it was way cute.

Other than that, not much has gone on that I really want to talk about. There is a bright side to everything, I just need to find it, thats all.

I love you guys and thanks for the birthday wishes. I am going to work hard and I am sure that I will enjoy the rest of my mission. I'll take care of things later. I know that worrying about here while im here, the Lord will help me all the more when I'm home....in 87 days.

Love you guys.

January 24, 2011

There was so much craziness this week. I don't even know how to put it into any sort of order.
BUT.......it's a good thing that I put a sticky note on my Monday area in my planner so that I could remember what I wanted to talk about with you guys.

You know how we always hear about how some people hate Americans and seeing as a lot of missionaries are from America, there are those people that freak out at them? Well we had the pleasure of meeting one of those guys. My comp does his approach and then the guy says,

" I don't understand. I am Hungarian, speak Hungarian to me.(angrily)"

So I step in and say, we were speaking Hungarian.

So what do you want then?

Well we are here to share a message.

Wait, where are you from?

America.

AH you guys are pieces of *@%!. Get out of here. I hate America.

Why?

Because you are all stupid and ruin everything. You are all crap. blah blah

Uh, ya right, bye.

Another thing that was way cool is that there is a gyros bar here and the two guys that work there just love us. One invited us to dinner and as he was making the food, he was playing Queen. It was soo fun to sing to Bohemian Rhapsody. Every time I hear bohemian rhapsody I always think of Wayne's world. I love to sing in my car, but this is one of the must do's with a group of friends. Ah it's sooo fun. IDK why.

The other night the streets were dead so we went off into the hills to place some flyers over at the family houses up there and so the main streets are pretty lit up, but it was a cold foggy night and the moonlight was kinda blue-ish. There was a part though where to get from one side of houses to another, there was a little patch of trees in between, and there was a dirt road leading through it. It was about as wide as one small car and there were no lights. It was foggy and moist, the dirt was kinda muddy and there was a slight wind as well. As we were walking on the small dirt road to the other part of development, it made me think of the blue foggy tint that is in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. When they are in the final event and are going through the maze. Tall dark trees right by your side and the slight blue hint of the foggy moonlight. It was pretty cool.

That was pretty much it as for anything exciting this week. I did however get to see Mark up in Budapest when we were up there for interviews.

One other funny thing is that there is this cute little 2 year old girl in the branch here. She was messing with the door and I was like "Ki csinálta azt?" (who did that)
And she is still learning to talk, but looked up at me and pointed and said "Te!" (You)
I laughed sooo hard. And the other missionaries and her mom did too. Little kids can be really funny sometimes.

Well I hope you guys have a great week,
Love Josh
